“People tend to think of tax accountants as stiff and complicated. But I wanted to be someone clients could feel comfortable with—like a friend.”
At the Taxpeer(택스피어) headquarters, located in a knowledge industry center in Suji-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province, CEO and tax accountant Hangyeom Jung(정한겸) greeted us with a bright smile, emphasizing his identity as a “friend-like tax accountant.” His philosophy is embedded in the company name itself: “Taxpeer” is a combination of “TAX” and “PEER,” reflecting his aspiration to be a close, approachable ally who smoothly bridges the gap between clients and the complex world of taxes.
In his early 30s, Jung defies the traditional image of a stern, older tax accountant. A foreign-educated professional with a clean-cut appearance, he describes himself as introverted—but in reality, he’s someone who speaks gently and focuses deeply on understanding his clients. He specializes in tax services for medical clinics and pharmacies, offering more than just basic bookkeeping. One of Taxpeer’s standout strengths is its proactive tax forecasting service.
His interest in the medical and pharmacy sector didn’t come by chance. Insights and advice from his younger sibling, a licensed pharmacist, helped him build a thorough understanding of the industry’s revenue structures and tax risks. Because most revenue in these fields comes from health insurance and medical benefits, profit analysis must be meticulous. Any oversight can lead directly to tax audit risks.

“Most clinics and pharmacies operate as sole proprietorships and often fall into high-income brackets. That makes tax forecasting and preemptive strategies absolutely essential.”
Jung personally consults with every client, drawing a clear line from the typical system where office staff handle communications and tax accountants are hard to reach. He’s also integrated tech tools like a direct KakaoTalk channel under “The Taxpeer” and a remote consulting platform—leveraging IT to modernize the tax experience.
“Rather than just sending over a payment slip during filing season, we analyze sales trends and tax deduction eligibility from multiple angles to forecast taxes. It took a while to build this system, but I believe it’s absolutely worth it.”
Now serving hundreds of clinics and pharmacies, Taxpeer aims to be more than a simple tax service—it’s building a model based on trust and partnership. Trust isn’t just talk; it’s built through consistent action. Jung notes that if he’s going to work with clients for 10 or 20 years, both stamina and reliability are key. That’s why he maintains a disciplined routine with daily weight training.
A tax accountant who thinks of clients “like friends”—behind the name Hangyeom Jung lies a sincerity that goes beyond surface-level friendliness. His strength is in speaking his clients’ language and working alongside them to solve problems. That’s what gives rise to a new face of tax accounting. And Taxpeer is where it all begins.
