Seoul, Aug. 13 Pulse, a South Korea-based corporate strategy consultancy, has brought on two industry veterans as special advisors, aiming to sharpen its competitive edge in distribution, new business, and real estate development.

The firm appointed Kim Sungyoung, former CEO of Emart Everyday, and Kim Soongil, professor of real estate at Myongji University, to three-year terms ending Aug. 12, 2028. They will provide strategic insight and oversee key projects, the company said in a statement Tuesday.

Kim Sungyoung, 59, spent 37 years at retail giant Shinsegae Group, leading major initiatives such as the launch of Emart24 and Emart Everyday, the acquisition of Shinsegae Duty Free, and the creation of Shinsegae TV Shopping. He served as CEO of Emart24 (formerly Emart With Me) and Emart Everyday from 2016 to 2023 before stepping down. He now serves as an advisor to Shinsegae’s corporate strategy office.

He currently heads MyBest Real Estate Asset Management and MyBesters alongside his academic role.

“The addition of Kim Sungyoung and Kim Soongil will significantly strengthen our strategic capabilities,” said Pulse CEO Seol Myounghwan. “Their deep market insight and long-standing field experience will help us capture new opportunities in a rapidly evolving market.”
